New! Heartsong Yoga Meditation Sangha

New! Heartsong Yoga Meditation Sangha
Brand new to Heartsong.
Tuesday night meditation group forming now!
Starts Tuesday, July 6. (no session Aug. 10)
Drop ins welcome.
6 to 7 pm.
Donations welcome, to complete the circle of giving and to support the space.

Eileen Santer, a long time Heartsong student and friend, has stepped up to be a leader of this new gathering for the practice of meditation and mindfulness. She would describe this as place to support and encourage the heart's song--what does the heart want? A place for anyone with or without experience, but yearning for a quiet place to be with others--a place of acceptance.

Eileen strongly believes that the heart takes an authentic individual path when given space and encouragement. For some people it's looking for less tension, for others looking for a deepening. She (and I) believe in the heart's process.

A little bit of teaching, a lot of practice, and even more support for all. All levels welcome. Visit Heartsong in for this peaceful practice, and a chance to listen to, and to trust, the heart...the true practice of meditation.

more about Eileen:
Eileen has been practicing meditation and studying meditation since the early 70's, attending 10-day retreats in Buddhism twice a year since the 90's at IMS in Barre and Garrison Institute in New York. She spent 15 years as a devotee of Adi Da. She has studied with Joseph Goldstein, Christina Feldman and Adyashanti among others. She enjoys typing and Twittering for Norman Scrimshaw, a New Hampshire teacher in non-duality. Her core teacher is Taraniya from IMS. Her favorite spiritual author is Joko Beck of the Zen tradition.

Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga Course

Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga Course
Fall course start dates:
September 22 through October 27. and...
November 3 through December 15, no class 11/24.

This course is a progressive series of classes teaching the fundamentals of Ashtanga Yoga's Primary Series, providing personalized attention for the beginner. While not a pre requisite for our Ashtanga drop in classes, the course is a great way to learn the series so that you can be comfortable to jump into any Ashtanga Yoga class on our schedule.

$84.00 pre registered, pre paid.
No drop ins for this course. You must consider trying to have full attendance for the course, as we only allow one make up class (just one) from our core class schedule. You must request your make up on line.

If the course is in session already and you want to learn more about Ashtanga Yoga, the best drop in classes to attend are on: Monday nights at 6 pm, Wednesday mornings at 9:15 am, or Sunday morning at 9 am. New students always warmly welcomed in these classes.

Pre Natal and Post Natal Yoga Classes

Pre Natal and Post Natal Yoga Classes
Saturday mornings 11 to 12:15
6 weeks pre paid, $84.00
Start dates:
September 11, 11 am.
October 23, 11 am.

Jane's description of this class:
"In each class we start in a circle with each person having a chance to share a little with the group. We usually have 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester gals, and we are inviting in new moms and their new babies as well! Then we have a short meditation, warm ups, and yoga postures (no experience necessary) that are geared towards strengthening, and centering, helping to create an easier child birthing experience, supporting new moms and enhancing all relationships. We complete with a nice 15 min relaxation with pillows and blankets. It is a great way to connect with yourself, your baby and with other gals experiencing this awesome time in your lives."

Practicing yoga throughout pregnancy offers many benefits for a healthy pregnancy and healthy parenting. Yoga creates strength and flexibility, and develops steady focus and attention. While these classes are appropriate for all levels of pregnancy, please consult your doctor before beginning this practice. Please pre register.

If the pre natal class times do not meet your life's schedule, consider joining one of our gentle classes, let the instructor know that you are expecting, and you can enjoy the benefits of yoga in these classes. You will be asked to modify and rest if the postures are contraindicated for pregnancy, but most of the class will be accessible to you.

More about Post Natal Yoga
On Saturday mornings, at 11 am to 12:15...
Moms and babies are welcome to join the class as "Post Natal Yoga" practitioners. Drop ins are welcome for new moms and babes, just $15. per class.

Inspired by my sister in law in Seattle who has a brand new baby, and who's yoga teacher welcomes the new moms and babies to class (with doctor's permission to begin gentle exercise) you and your baby are welcome to join in the pre natal yoga class and enjoy time together in a peaceful, loving and happy environment. Sleeping, nursing and comfy babies through about 12 months are welcome! (babies can be on the mat with mom, sleeping in their car seat or on the blankets, or just hanging out enjoying the vibe!) Taught by Jane Anable, who is psyched to see who might join her this time around!
