Free Introduction to YogaBasics, Kripalu Style Yoga
Look for this class in the fall of '08

Kripalu style yoga is at the heart of every class at Heartsong Yoga. This free intro session will give the new practitioner a chance to learn a little about the background and intentions of practice, understand some of the benefits of a regular yoga practice, and have an experience of a traditional gentle class, appropriate for "every-body." Drop ins welcome.

If you like this class, and want to start a yoga practice, then simply join us in any one of our gentle yoga classes on the drop in schedule. We do not offer a course for Kripalu Yoga, as the drop in classes are geared for brand new students to join in at any time.

Free Intro to Meditation and Mindful Movement
Look for this class in the fall of '08

Introducing Robert Rivest for a brand new program,
Meditation & Mindful Movements

Robert will be offering this class on an ongoing basis every Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm, on the "core class schedule." This means you can use your ten class yoga card or membership, or simply drop in and pay as you go, just like our yoga classes.

These classes will be a creative sampling of Buddhist and Toaist meditation techniques. You will explore sitting, standing, walking and moving meditation as well as breath-work, natural imagery and the mindful verses of Thich Nhat Hanh.

Robert Rivest has been a professional performing artist since 1983. He has presented over 4,000 educational programs covering humor, science, health and stress management. From his initial training in mime, dance, theatre and improvisation, Robert expanded his studies to include meditation, tai-chi, yoga, qigong, and breath-work. In 1997 Robert developed his Meditation and Mindful Movements series and has taught it in schools, yoga centers, hospitals and community centers ever since. He resides in Springfield, Ma with his wife Amelia and their twin daughters.

With Rob's down-to-earth sense of humor and engaging style, Meditation & Mindful Movements is a fun, natural and effective way to build concentration, quiet the mind, and calm the body.

Free Introduction to Astanga Yoga
Look for this class in the fall of '08

Sometimes called Power Yoga, Astanga Yoga is a fun, hot, vigorous series of postures practiced in a heated room. The challenging and graceful flow combines breath and movement into a meditation in motion. This is your chance to check out a class and see if it is a style that you'd like to explore. Drop ins welcome.
