Celebrating Women in Yoga! The History and Practice of the Yogini Tradition in India and Nepal This Friday, August 3, 7:30 pm
A very special evening presentation, presented by Julia Aditi Jean, Ph.D. (Just back from presenting at the week long Yogini Conference at Kripalu.) Who were the unfettered yet spiritually disciplined Yoginis of South Asia? In this presentation, we learn about the women who devoted their lives to divine union. These Shaktis were often on the outskirts of society, following their deep yearning to live every day as a full-bodied devotional offering. We explore two other aspects of Yogini history and practice: the cult of the 64 Yoginis who are protectors of the Goddess, and the round open-air temples where Yoginis still gather at night to worship and celebrate. Learn more about these rich traditions, men are welcome too! $20 pre paid, $25 at the door. ($20 for all monthly members.)
More about Julia Aditi Jean: She began the study and practice of devotional Goddess worship in South Asia more than 15 years ago. Having earned a Ph.D. in Anthropology, and as a Fulbright scholar and college professor, she has lived, researched, and practiced her sadhana alongside adepts in Nepal and India. She is the Director of Educational and Research Development at Tara Mandala in Pagosa Springs, CO. Learn more about Tara Mandala click here.

Be sure to check out the Summer Schedule Click Here
We would love to see you this summer at Heartsong! Our rooms are air conditioned and comfortable, unless you are a power yogi or astanga, then of course the room is always warm, year round!
Remember our new Referral Program! Send your friends to yoga and earn free classes. For every three new students who give your name when they fill out their registration sheet, you will earn a free class! (Or the value of a class applied to your membership or class card.) At the summer's end, we will reward folks who have sent in the most new students to the studio! Perhaps you could forward this email to a friend, or invite someone new to come to class with you.
It is your support and enthusiasm for our classes that fills the rooms and helps to create our vibrant Heartsong community. Thank you so very much!
Peace, Sheila and Tony Magalhaes If you have any questions about our schedule or upcoming programs, send me an email
