108 Sun Salutations

Monday, December 17, 7:30 pm A benefit for our student Rigzen at the Siddhartha School in Ladak, India.
Join Heartsong's Astanga Yoga gang and all yogis who love a strong vinyasa flow style of yoga for an evening of fun with the Sun Salutations to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Come and find out why "108" is considered a sacred number in Indian Mythology, Numerology, and Astronomy...and how you can fit in your own "stories" about your own special numbers and dates during the event! All are welcome.
The format of the class: Sheila will teach/lead the first set of sun salutations, as many as we need to get folks familiar with the flow. (There are 2 formal styles of sun salutation, she will lead both.) Then, as a group, we will take turns counting up to 108.
For each count, you are welcome to improvise your sun salute, take child pose, do another posture, rest, play, and simply enjoy the heat and the energy of the evening! You will be amazed at how everyone falls into the flow of the evenings practice, no matter how many sun salautations you actually "do".
Be prepared to sweat, laugh, and flow through the evening!
All proceeds from the evenings event will go to our student at the Siddhartha School in Ladak, India.
Drop in, $20.00, $18.00 for all Heartsong Monthly Members
