Saying Goodbye to ClaireThis is not an easy email to write. It is hard to say goodbye. I know it really is "see you soon" Claire, and that you will always be a huge part of the fabric of the tapestry that is Heartsong Yoga...so you will always be here with us! A favorite mantra we love is "Celebrate Impermanence" but it is easier to say it and harder to live it out, as we know!
Claire Werbicki is off to create her Most Magnificent Life, moving out to Groton, Massachusetts, a wonderful change for her, and a sad goodbye for us. It is all good, really good, we know, and honestly there is not one part of me that would not want her to go off on this great adventure...except that she is my best friend and best yoga buddy, ever since we met in 1978 (a mere 34 years ago) and we went to school together, grew up together, raised our families together...and she was by my side when Hearsong opened in 1993, nearly 19 years ago...so you can see why I am a little sad!!!
Some of you are regulars in Claire's Tuesday night class, and heard this news a few weeks ago. Others of you might not see her as often, but have known her over the years in many of the important roles that she has played here at the studio.
For many years she was a new student's first introduction to yoga, teaching hundreds of you in the Yoga Basics courses over the years. For others, she was the welcoming smile at the front desk, your first contact with the world of Heartsong. Morning yogis will remember her teaching gentle yoga, and the evening yogis will remember her as a strong warrior woman kicking butt on Tuesdays or Wednesday nights!
Claire's last class is this Tuesday night, at 6 pm. After class, at 7:30, I am going to host a little ceremony for her in the Great Room. A chance to Celebrate Claire and say goodbye. All welcome to attend, we will be done by 8 pm, please join us!
.....Groton Mass, you have an amazing Kripalu Yogini coming your way! How lucky for you all! Claire, we wish you the best of luck, we wish you love and light and many many many happy healthy years ahead. We know you will be around to play with us when you can, and folks, do not be surprised to see her as a sub now and again, or, in the room with you all as a humble student. Which is why I say "See you soon, Claire. Namaste."
Love, Sheila
PS: You can send a message directly to Claire at just send her an email! She would be happy to hear from you! PS: Claire and I are pleased to announce that Lauri Deary will be taking over the Tuesday night, 6 pm yoga class, and will be teaching her beautiful Anusara Inspired yoga practice at the moderate (kick it up a notch) level. Come and enjoy her teaching.
