We look forward to seeing you at one of our "Will Teach Yoga for Food" events, or at the regular classes that will be held over this Holiday Season.

This workshop style class with Heartsong's senior teacher Jane Anable will expand on the practice, giving you the chance to experience a powerful yoga technique for deep rest. (always held the first Thursday of each month at 7:30, regular price $15.)

Everyone is welcome, students, family members, friends. All are "free" with your generous non perishable food donations to the Open Pantry.

Anusara Inspired Yoga Therapy Workshop
For Back, Knees, Neck & Shoulders
With Lauri Deary
Saturday, December 3, 11 am to 1:30 pm.
Pre-register by December 1st, $35.00
Walk-ins welcome, $40.00 at the door.

Anusara yoga is an elegant system of therapeutic principles of alignment applied to each pose. Essential concepts of the practice are the 3 A's:
Attitude, Alignment, and Action. Every pose is infused with a meaningful intention, awareness of specific postural alignment, and balanced action between stability and freedom.

Learning these simple, precise techniques can decrease pain and aid in healing injuries.

Yin Yoga Workshop style class.
Monday December 5, 7:30 to 9:00 pm.
$15.00 drops ins welcome. Introducing Michele Scheuer.

Yin Yoga uses longer passively held postures to work the deep connective tissues of the body; the tendons, the ligaments and cartilage; areas that do not stretch like muscle; areas that are difficult to reach and open. These previously inaccessible areas are opened allowing prana or chi (life force) to flow freely resulting in a more supple and flexible body. Yin yoga encourages you to slow down, to pay attention and deepen the awareness between mind and body. It is truly a wonderful compliment all practices and styles of yoga, particularly the "yang" or more vigorous practices.

In this workshop you will be introduced to the theory of Yin Yoga; its benefits as well as its challenges. Staying in poses from anywhere from 3-5 minutes gives us a new edge to work with. "Yin yoga challenges you to sit in the pure presence of awareness" (Sarah Powers)
