Costa Rica Yoga Retreat in Paradise

This is Heartsong Yoga & Maureen Elise Quinn's annual trip to beautiful Costa Rica, a vacation retreat in paradise. It's a perfect combination of warmth and sunshine, miles of pristine beach, fabulous food, yoga time, quiet time, and play time. It is the kind of trip where you can come "solo" and make friendships that last a lifetime. Bring a yoga buddy or a partner, even a "non-yogi" will find themselves swept up in the beauty and the "Pura Vida" (Pure Life) vibe of Costa Rica. Limited space, we sell out every trip.

February 8 - 15, 2025: Gentle Yoga Retreat
February 15 - 22, 2025: Ashtanga (Vinyasa Flow) Yoga Retreat

In both weeks, we begin each day with a morning meditation, followed by either a Gentle/All Levels Yoga (week one) or a more vigorous Ashtanga based Flow class, also all levels, especially for those who like a dynamic practice, taught by Sheila. (week two) Each afternoon (both weeks) Maureen leads a deeply restorative practice. There are early morning beach walks, afternoon play time, evening "happy hour" sun sets on the beach with tropical cocktails or mocktails and the food is plentiful and delicious. We've booked two excursions (a morning estuary tour and an afternoon party sailboat experience) and you can plan your days to be as busy or as quiet as you would like, plenty of other activities can be arranged, swim the pools or the ocean, lounge or hike, or take a book to a hammock beneath the palm trees.

Meet your hosts

Your hosts are Maureen-Elise Quinn, CYT and Sheila Magalhaes, E-RYT 500, along with Tony Magalhaes,
who will introduce you to the Boutique Beach Hotel RipJack Inn on Playa Grande, Costa Rica.

Playa Grande is part of a National Park that protects the Leatherback Turtle with miles of pristine beaches along the Pacific Ocean. Experience “pura vida” (the pure life) and return to your natural state of stillness and peace within.
Escape the winter’s cold and your busy life for a week of retreat and renewal.

This is a wonderful opportunity to nurture your body, mind and soul with morning meditation, revitalizing and balancing yoga classes, delicious food, and great company. There will be plenty of free time daily to relax and play, and two group excursions are planned to explore the beautiful beaches and gorgeous ocean of Playa Grande.

If you have a partner or a family member who would love a tropical vacation but is not "into yoga" that's ok too...there is plenty to explore and lots of time to enjoy the beach and the surrounding area...or maybe this is the time they can get "turned on" to the practices, which will be accessible to Every-Body. (and always optional)

The pricing for the retreat includes:

Beach Boutique Hotel RipJack Inn, Playa Grande. (taxes included)

Morning meditation and two yoga classes daily:
In the morning, mindful meditation is followed by an All-levels Kripalu style slow flow yoga class.
Free time for beach, pool, exploration and play until the afternoon yoga class.
Daily afternoon Svaroopa-style restorative yoga class.
Exception: We will host only one yoga class on our excursion days, see below for details.

Dining:
Price includes choice of full breakfast, smoothies, fresh juices & coffee, and generous delicious dinner daily.
at the RipJack’s second floor unique tree top open air restaurant.
RipJack’s restaurant offers a highly unique menu of fresh local seafood as well as tasty treats from the land. (There is a full baqr with tropical drinks and cocktails are available too, not included) Happy Hour is always on the beach, as the sun sets.

Two Excursions included/pre paid by your registration:
Sunset Sail & Snorkle Tour:
Set off in the early afternoon on a beautiful catamaran into the deep blue sea. (half-day trip includes lunch and cocktails) You can snorkel, kayak, paddle board or swim to the beach from the boat. All of the equipment and life jackets are provided, as is unlimited open bar and light lunch. A party on a sail boat...fabulous.

Estuary Tour:
A 1.5 hr. guided boat tour to see a nearby estuary and the wildlife that resides there is planned for one morning.
The Playa Grande estuary is part of the Las Baulas National Marine Park. Here the Rio Mata Palo empties out into the Pacific Ocean creating what is know as brackish water. The Playa Grande estuary is part fresh and part salt water making it an ideal home for many of the beautiful animal species in Costa Rica. The estuary is 6,745 hectors (25 square miles) of mangrove, spectacular! The lush vegetation absorbs all unwanted noise creating an extremely peaceful boat ride. While there are no guarantees with mother nature, you are more than likely to see Howler Monkeys, Tropical Fish, Green Herons, Brown Pelicans, and more.

Transportation to and from the Liberia airport IS included and we will transport you to the RipJack Inn, only an hour away. Plan for about a half hour of customs followed by an hour to the Rip Jack.
.....Air Fair is NOT included, make your arrangements to fly into the Liberia (LIR) airport) When you are looking for a flight, please try to arrive in mid afternoon, as we would love to have our first group dinner together on Saturday night.

Additional Activities available, not included in pricing:
You can set them up right from the Ripjack:
Horseback Riding, Sport Fishing, Surf lessons, Massage, Taxi into the shopping areas, or visit Rincon de la Vieja. There is plenty of free time daily to enjoy these activities, or rest, read, walk the beach, soak in the pools, and stick around Playa Grande and Rip Jack.

Then Book your own AIR TRAVEL: Fly to Costa Rica into (LIR) Liberia airport, only an hour away from the RipJack Inn, transportation is included from the airport to the Inn, and back again at the end of the trip. We strongly encourage purchasing travel insurance.
