Ashtanga Yoga & all our Flow Classes
Ashtanga Yoga is a hot, vigorous, flowing practice. While not a more advanced style of yoga, it often draws those looking for a more physically challenging pace but is accessible for all levels. Ashtanga connects movement with breath in a dynamic series of postures done with calm focused attention for strength, flexibility and a quiet mind. Be prepared to sweat a lot as you move through this meditation in motion, as you engage core muscles, work with a balanced steady breath, and enjoy the "bamboo room" heated to about 85 degrees. Beginners are always welcome, the classes are designed to be all levels.
75 minute classes offer the dynamic practice with some modifications to make it most accessible to newer students, and invites in meditation in motion for those who are more familiar with the sequence of postures.
90 minute classes move through the full traditional sequencing that may include alternative postures for a fully balanced practice, with plenty of options and modifications for the new as well and seasoned students to enjoy.
1/2 Primary Series Community Class is a one hour class on Saturdays, 11 am, by donation with rotating teachers. (thru Dec.)
Flow Yoga is a flowing, vigorous class, inspired by Ashtanga Yoga, but with more eclectic sequencing. All levels are welcome. The poses are not complicated, but they require focus and attention and a willingness to connect breath and movement uninterruptedly. Of course you will always be offered time to rest if you want it! (80 degrees).
TGIFriday Flow classes are based on the Ashtanga sequence, an eclectic, creative 1 hour flow class done in a moderately heated room and welcoming all levels.
Morning Yoga Flow on Tuesday and Thursday mornings is from 7 to 8 am, a special dynamic morning routine designed to jump start your day, wake up your body and get your energy flowing! The room is warm, not hot, (about 75 degrees) and the sequence is based on Boomer Yoga, a balanced blend to wake up the body and move in all directions! All levels welcome to attend, doors open each day at 6:45 am. Come in ready to roll right at 7, we will be done promptly at 8.
