Starting January 5, 2020
We begin with a reading from Thich Nhat Hanh. Do a 20 minute sitting meditation. Then 5 minutes of standing meditation. 10-15 minutes of walking meditation Another Thich Nhat Hanh reading . A brief discussion. We close with an intention for our practice for the week.
Why is it called a Sangha? Traditionally Sangha means a Buddhist community of monks, nuns, novices, and laity. We are using the term loosely, meaning a group or community of like-minded folks coming together and supporting each other's meditation practice. We are building our mindfulness community with guidance from the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation.
This community offering is open to all, donations will be accepted to support the space, Thank you.
Who is Thich Nhat Hanh? Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh is a global spiritual leader, poet, and peace activist, renowned for his powerful teachings and bestselling writings on mindfulness and peace. A gentle, humble monk, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. called him “an Apostle of peace and nonviolence” when nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize.
