This specialty class is designed to offer you some well deserved TLC.  Alignment with the tones of the Crystal Bowls is one of the most dynamic forms of sound healing found today. You will be resting "on the ground" like a shavasana deep relaxation, cozy with cushions and blankets (use Heartsong's or pack a bag!) as Chantal guides your "inner journey" and plays the crystal bowls with their hauntingly beautiful tones.  Sound Healing has been scientifically proven to relax the body and mind, for inner peace, clarity, better sleep, and so much more.  Studies have shown that sound has a direct impact on the mental processes, muscles, nervous system, heartbeat, pulse, digestive system and circulatory system. Chantal is a gifted and highly experienced practitioner, we are so happy to welcome her to the studio each month.

Yoga Nidra, Once a Month

Once a Month, second Thursday night, 7:00  to 8:00 pm
In-Studio or Zoom Livestream from Home
$20. each class, with Cat Rasid.  Walk ins welcome
Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative practice, where you will be resting comfortably as you are lead through a series of "visualizations" to systematically be led towards mental, physical, and emotional relaxation. Through this process, the subtle energy channels are also revitalized. Yoga Nidra is sometimes called Beyond the Dreams, Deep Deep Sleep, or The Ocean of Emptiness. It is helpful for stress reduction, insomnia, fatigue, depression, anxiety and general well-being. The practice can be done seated or lying down, and Cat will lead you towards the "place" where there is only a deep abiding stillness that is rich with awareness; a space of inspiration, intuition, and compassionate loving kindness.

This class will be offered Hybrid style, so you can Zoom Live Stream from home if you like! Class will begin with some gentle soothing stretches and then you will move into your resting position, on your back or however you feel comfortable. Have a few blankets and pillows available to be super comfy.

Reiki & Crystal Immersion Class: once a month

Reiki & Crystal Immersion to Honor Your Inner Light

7:15 to 8:30 pm, with Shannon Bates

Pre-Registration preferred, (so Shannan can prepare her materials for you) but Walk Ins are welcome. Everyone gets a "goodie bag" of crystals to bring home each month!

May 7
June 4

When was the last time you noticed your self, thanked your self, honored your self? This class is an offering of Sacred Time to travel inward and to reset and recharge with the intention of honoring your inner light.  Pause and allow yourself to be immersed in the healing energies of Reiki (a Japanese energetic healing modality), crystals and light work.  Shannon will activate each participant to a crystal grid while you relax on the ground, getting cozy in whatever position you are more comfortable. She will then offer the healing and relaxing energy of Reiki and lead you through a guided visualization to connect with your inner light to clear and recharge your energy centers. Each month she will introduce new crystals for the grid!

Shannon Bates is an RMT (Reiki Master Teacher) and is certified as a crystal practitioner (CCP) and advanced crystal master (ACM) through the nationally accredited Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy. She also holds certification in Chakra Balancing work and is currently studying Earth Medicine work.  She has been a member of the Heartsong community for many decades and we are honored to share her work with our community.

Private Yoga Instruction

Private Yoga instruction offers individual attention from an experienced yoga instructor. While our group classes are a very effective way of learning and practicing yoga, there are times when you may consider beginning your practice in a private setting. Some reasons to consider private sessions:

  • You are brand new to yoga and want to ease into practice "one to one."
You want to develop a meditation or mindfulness practice.
  • You are healing from an injury or have a physical limitation and want to learn how to "adapt" your practice at home or in class. (Examples include learing how to modify poses, and using chairs, straps and blocks for support.)
  • You are healing from an illness and want a restorative gentle practice.
  • You want to develop a personalized practice for home.
  • You want to refine structural alignment for your Kripalu or Ashtanga practice.
  • You want to learn the Ashtanga sequence.
  • You are pregnant (Yeah!) and want to know how to modify in group classes or get one-to-one TLC.
  • Your life is super busy and you cannot find the time to attend our group classes.
  • You want to bring your younger child to class but need to give them some practice first!

Individual or private group yoga instruction is available by appointment at Heartsong Yoga's studio or at your home or office.

At Heartsong: One-to-One Private: $75.00/hour, may be less for multiple sessions or more for a more complex or longer session, call or email for more information.

Off site One-to-One or small group: Email for a quote, or for more information.

Essential Oils & Relaxation Practices

with Heather Locklear

For thousands of years, people have reached for the power of plants, using essential oils to uplift them spiritually and emotionally, to support their overall wellness, and for cosmetic purposes. Now you can use essential oils for aromatherapy, in your household solutions, or for personal care; every aspect of your daily life can benefit from a drop or two of your favorite essential oil!

These classes will introduce beautiful oils, where you can create a personalized oil blend to take home, and enjoy a practice of mindfulness, relaxation or a sweet yoga session, depending on the focus and intention of the workshop each month.  The second Tuesday of each month at 7:15 pm.

$25., pre registration recommended but walk ins are welcome.

Freedom Yoga, w/ The Phoenix: A Sober Community

First Class, May 3, 5:45 pm, a true yogi happy hour.
Then, the first Friday of every month

The Phoenix fosters a supportive, physically active community
for people recovering from alcohol and substance use , those who choose to live a sober life, or are sober curious.  All we ask for anyone who participates in Phoenix-led activities is 48 hours of sobriety.  All are welcome, whether you’re in recovery, a supporter, or an ally. Sheila chose this organization to partner with as they have a strong commitment to providing human connection and community, the core value of The Phoenix movement, and a mission of Heartsong Yoga.  With over 46 million Americans living with substance use disorder and millions more directly and indirectly impacted, this work is more urgent than ever.

Freedom Yoga is an all levels slow flow class accessible to everybody. With inclusive language, encouraging support, and a trauma sensitive approach, this class can quiet your mind, soothe your nervous system, and help you cultivate strength, balance and flexibility in your body, mind, and heart. Sheila gave the name Freedom Yoga to this flow to describe the spacious vibe of the class. There will be an optional 15 minutes of connection time after the class to meet one another.

How to register: Because Sheila is volunteering with The Phoenix, the registration method is different for this Specialty Class.  It will show up on our class schedule but you do not pre register with Punchpass! (anyone who needs support for this process, please reach out or walk in)

Everyone must download The Phoenix app on their phone. You create an account (free) and then you will be able to not only attend Heartsong's Freedom Yoga classes, but also find access to all kinds of classes, from HIIT to Rock Climbing to meetups and meetings, all over the country, live, and virtually! Visit here to explore their website and get a feel for their amazing programs and offerings.

Register for Freedom Yoga on the app.  When you put in your location, it will give you "what's happening" events nearby.  You will see that Western MA does not have many volunteers, but we believe that this movement is already growing interest in this area and that Heartsong might help to encourage others: "We rise together: Together, we’re fueling a movement that will change the world.  Through the power of community and belonging, we are fueling a movement that is changing how society approaches substance use, recovery, and its belief in the intrinsic strength of people"....The Phoenix.

*****Because this is so new...as of 4/11 the class may not be live on the app yet.  Take this time to explore all that The Phoenix has to offer, to be familiar with the app and maybe take some of the virtual or on demand classes you will find there********

PS: We are looking for volunteers (info here) and support for this new program. (or create other programs in our community) The beauty of this work is in coming together, removing stigma, celebrating the joy of sobriety, hanging out with folks who love to do what you love to do, and making a difference in your life and the lives of others.
