Yoga For Managing Stress, Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Manage and Reduce Anxiety, Stress & Panic Attacks Sunday, June 5, 11 am to 1:30 pm. Class size limited to 20 students, and sells out quickly. Please come early, pre registered, to settle in so we can start on time! Appropriate for all levels. $35. pre paid., recommended so that we have your take home materials available. (The price of the workshop includes a 20 minute Yoga Nidra CD for on going practice after the workshop, as well as handouts and information about more resources to support you at home.) Pre registration is recommended or you risk not having a take home CD or materials that day. Price at the door, $40.00, materials may have to follow. Must call ahead as space is limited and our last event sold out. Join Beth Shenoy and Kerry Ouimette to learn and practice strategies that can support you in times of anxiousness, stress, and during the onset or occurrence of a panic attack. These strategies include active postures for all levels of ability and breathing and meditation techniques. This workshop is accessible for people of all ages and abilities. The emotions, thoughts, and physiological responses that accompany stress, anxiety, and panic are quite common and are experienced by tens of millions people here in the US. It is wonderful to see a growing number of people integrating mindful yoga practices into their lives as a component of wellness strategies. Activities and Topics include: Discussion and practice of several breathing techniques. Practice of an active sequence of yoga postures for all levels. Discussion and practice of seated meditation techniques. The experience of Yoga Nidra (Deep Relaxation or “Yogic Sleep”) We will take a 10-15 minute break at about the halfway point, bring a light snack if you like. What to bring, what to wear: Wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement, sitting, and lying down with ease. Bring your yoga mat if you have one. (We have plenty to borrow, along with blankets, cushions and eye pillows for relaxation and support.) Chairs are available for those who prefer a chair.
