Mother/Daughter Retreat Day

Date: May 7th, 2016.

Time: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Mandala Yoga Practice for Mom and Daughters Saturday, May 7, 2016 From 1-3 pm. $35. registration fee is for both participants, Mom (or any adult female role model) and daughter, aged 7 and up. In our second Mom and Daughter Retreat, we will take the practice of "creating mandalas" to the yoga mat and beyond! Moms & Daughters will have the opportunity to practice together in a group setting through the practice of ‘Mandala Yoga’ as well as the creation of a group mandala art project and an individual mandala project. Mandala means circle. A mandala is a symbol that represents the universe and its energy. It is often used for meditation . The repetitive patterns draw the eye to the center of the circle, which provides a pleasing focal point. "Mandala Yoga" is a geometric yoga experience with a combination of movement, teamwork, learning & fun! In this special class we will explore movement by becoming intertwined in a circle with others, while experiencing the energy of the group through stretching and strengthening both the body & mind. An added benefit to this practice is the sense of magic that happens when a group of individuals come together and work toward a common goal. Open to all levels ages 7 and up. Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and a playful spirit. This retreat will be led by Heather Monson, Brain Break Yoga for Kids and Mindful Yoga for Women Instructor here at Heartsong.
