The summer solstice approaches, bringing with it the most energetic season of the year.  In the cycle of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the energy and expansiveness of the season is associated with the heart.  It is a time to open our hearts as we connect with family and friends during vacations and seasonal celebrations, and a time to work our hearts as the long, warm days invite us to be active in the outdoors.

Celebrate the arrival of summer and balance that active “yang” energy with a heart-centered yin yoga and meditation practice.

Yin yoga is an approach to practice that targets the dense connective tissue in our body, and helps to restore and maintain the range of motion in our joints. Floor postures are passively held for longer periods of time with a moderate level of sensation. Yin is a fantastic complement to more dynamic activities such as running, weight training, or vinyasa yoga practices, which generally target our muscles with dynamic movement.  The stillness of Yin practice helps to balance our energy and can invite meditative reflection.

Gather a selection of blankets and pillows, cushions and a cozy quiet place in your home to enjoy this live stream class.  Steve will lead and guide you throughout.  This class is suitable for everyone, no prior yoga experience is needed.
