Joyful Offerings for a Joyful Season

Joyful Offerings for a Joyful Season Screenshot-2024-04-11-at-11.56.15AM.png

When I started writing this the sun was shining
, the birds were happily singing and the breeze was fresh and clean. Today, we are back to more grey and rain, but looking around the yard I see buds bursting on the trees, the green is greener and our forsythia bushes are the most brilliant yellow than I've seen in years.  The Nor'Easter was a week ago and the celestial adventures are behind us now, as we look forward to the "In Like a Lamb" that March promised us last month.

We have many wonderful offerings, both in our core class schedule and our Specialty Class calendar.  Look for springtime community events; we have FOUR benefit classes, all details are below:

  1. Preserving a beautiful parcel of land in Windsor, MA called Tamarack Hollow, (April 28) Drum & Dance.
  2. To support The National Alliance of Mental Illness, (May 1) with a Mindfulness Yoga Class.
  3. To support the Give Back Yoga Foundation's "Yoga for All" program bringing yoga to underserved populations, (June 1) Freedom Yoga & Acoustic Guitar.
  4. For the Siddhartha School and the student we support there, (June 16) 108 Sun Salutations.

NEW: For those who are in recovery, their family members, loved ones, and allies, Sheila is honored to be an official volunteer for The Phoenix: a Sober Community. The Phoenix fosters a supportive, physically active community for people recovering from alcohol and substance use and those who choose to live a sober life, creating a movement that builds on the power of community and belonging, changing how we look at addiction and recovery. First class is Friday, May 3, 5:45 pm.

Once again, we wish you a lovely transition to this time of longer days and more light. Let your Yoga Practice help guide your way! See you on your mat, either In Studio or on the Zoom Screen. Peace is always available daily, nights and weekends, and remember, #moreyogamorelove.

Namaste,
Sheila, Tony, Beth, and Team Heartsong Yoga.

NEW Class: Freedom Yoga, with Sheila & The Phoenix: A Sober Community Screenshot-2024-04-08-at-5.24.09PM.png

Friday, May 3, 5:45 pm, a true yogi Happy Hour.  (Then, the first Friday of every month.) Freedom Yoga is an all levels slow flow class accessible to everybody. With inclusive language, encouraging support, and a trauma sensitive approach, this class can quiet your mind, soothe your nervous system, and help you cultivate strength, balance and flexibility in your body, mind, and heart.  Sheila gave the name Freedom Yoga to this flow to describe the spacious vibe of the class. There will be an optional 15 minutes of connection time after the class to meet one another.

The Phoenix fosters a supportive, physically active community for people recovering from alcohol and substance use , and those who choose to live a sober life or are sober curious.  All we ask for anyone who participates in Phoenix-led activities is 48 hours of sobriety.  All are welcome, whether you’re in recovery, a supporter, or an ally. Sheila chose this organization to partner with as they have a strong commitment to providing human connection and community, the core values shared by The Phoenix movement and Heartsong Yoga.  More details, how to register, here.
